Avengers: Infinity War is making money moves in advance ticket sales.
Variety reports Marvel’s upcoming film has not only sold double the amount of tickets on Fandango that then-record-setting Black Panther had by this point, it’s also outpacing the last seven Marvel films, combined, on the ticket-selling site. That’s a Hulk-sized feat considering Marvel’s latest films have been some of its most popular ones: Black Panther, Thor: Ragnarok, Spider-Man: Homecoming, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Doctor Strange, Captain America: Civil War, and Ant-Man.
It makes sense though as Marvel’s promotional budget for Infinity War is a whopping $150 million with partners like Coca-Cola, Quicken Loans, and Infiniti. As Deadline notes, that’s more than they spent on Spider-Man: Homecoming ($140 million) and Guardians of the Galaxy, Vol. 2 ($80 million), setting yet another new Marvel record.
