Beyonce’s Ex-Manager Tries to Aquire Rights to Her Songs with $260 Million

Billboard reports that a music IP company, Hipgnosis Songs, founded by Beyoncé’s former manager, Merck Mercuriadis, just raised £200 million (or $260 million) of investment capital with the goal of acquiring some of the pop queen’s most popular tracks. Mercuriadis, who also managed Guns N’ Roses, Elton John, and Diane Warren, won’t just be aiming for Bey though. Per Billboard, his company looking to gain “eight catalogs from well-known songwriters, spanning over 1,000 songs, including more than 10 Number 1s in the U.K. and U.S.” Before the fundraiser, a former IPO named Adele, Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, and Kanye West as potential musicians to go after.

  1. Is this like take her song as a public lateral? This video is not giving enough legit as why to acquire and it seems as if it like 99% from Bey! What is the manager standard or contract agreement or renegotiation, then that is about the only royalty he should get unless she want to sale that part or so of the catalog. This video is broad if only want to take for the time he was manager and what he wrote!

  2. Doubt that’ll happen good luck with that buddy lol and Gayes estate is always reaching the beat or notes were arranged differently but the judge still went Gayes way this is one the reasons many producers won’t sample anymore or it’s a hard replayed with different arranged notes
