Shooting detailed this week occurred in Lake Balboa on July 7 — officers who responded to the area of Victory Boulevard found a man, identified as Christopher Terry, waving around a handgun.

At the time of the shooting, officials said in a tweet that they believed Terry had shot himself. But on Wednesday, investigators said in a written statement that officers shot the man.
