Bodycam Shows Gang Of Upto 100 Teens Attacking The Police

Bodycam footage of up to 100 teenagers surrounding police officers and launching attacks has been released.

The distressing video of the skirmish in Stanley town centre has been posted online by Durham Constabulary on Thursday.

The “appalling” scenes were filmed at about 8.40pm on November 3, where uniformed officers responded to reports for a “vulnerable female” at the bus station.

Officers were quickly surrounded and subjected to verbal abuse, before several youths launch their attacks.

Police say bricks were thrown and a police community support officer was punched in the face.

The footage also shows hooded teenagers setting off fireworks on the street.

Sergeant Emma Kay said: “Disorder of this kind is totally unacceptable and violence against our officers will not be tolerated.
