Bodycam Shows Moments Before Knife Wielding Man Is Shot By Police

Moore police released body camera videos that appear to show the intense moments before a knife-wielding suspect was shot by a police officer outside a convenience store.

According to Moore police, officers were trying to serve a felony warrant for child pornography and indecent exposure near Southwest Fourth Street and Telephone Road when the suspect, identified as Brian Richardson, pulled out a knife.

An officer approached Richardson and asked him for his name, and at the same time, Richardson can be seen on the officer’s body camera video pulling a knife out of his pocket, police said.

The officer can be heard on the video telling the suspect multiple times to drop the weapon, but the man continues to move toward the officer with the knife, as seen in the video. That’s when the officer opened fire.

Richardson can be seen in the video running from the officers after being shot. He was later taken into custody and treated at a hospital, police said.
