Ahead of his fifth studio album Scorpion, Drake has been releasing hit after hit, including the addictive anthem “Nice For What.” The song enjoyed four weeks in the No. 1 spot of the Billboard Hot 100, aided by killer cameos from Issa Rae, Tracee Ellis Ross, Tiffany Haddish, and more in the single’s accompanying music video.
But the song itself didn’t take Drake very long to make. In fact, he wrote the lyrics while playing a game of NBA 2K, according to the song’s producer Murda Beatz. In an interview with Elliott Wilson and Brian “B.Dot” Miller for the Rap Radar podcast, the 24-year-old producer revealed just how nonchalant the whole affair was.
