Earl Sweatshirt has canceled a run of tour dates due to “anxiety and depression.”
A Sweatshirt rep told Pitchfork Sunday that the I Don’t Like Shit I Don’t Go Outside crafter is presently “battling anxiety and depression,” a battle that’s been “compounded” by the recent death of his father, lauded poet Keorapetse Kgositsile. “He thought he would be ready to perform but simply is not yet able to,” the rep said. “He would like to apologize to his fans and promises to be back as soon as he is able to.”
News of Sweatshirt’s canceled dates arrived just before his previously scheduled Field Day performance in London. Forbidden Fruit Festival and Parklife Festival were also among the affected dates. At the time of this writing, upcoming dates in Chicago and Cleveland were still listed on Sweatshirt’s website.
