‘Guardians of the Galaxy’ Stars Release Open Letter: ‘We Fully Support James Gunn’

Chris Pratt, Bradley Cooper, Zoe Saldana, Dave Bautista, and five other key Guardians of the Galaxy cast members have penned an open letter in support of James Gunn, the writer/director who brought the franchise to the screen and returned for the sequel.

Disney terminated Gunn over a week ago, after he faced backlash for a series of unearthed problematic tweets making remarks about pedophilia and rape.

“We fully support James Gunn. We were all shocked by his abrupt firing last week and have intentionally waited these ten days to respond in order to think, prey, listen, and discuss,” the letter begins, also hand-signed by Vin Diesel, Karen Gillan, Michael Rooker, Pom Klementieff, and Sean Gunn (James’ brother as well as a GoTG actor). “In that time we’ve been encouraged by the outpouring of support from fans and members of the media who wish to see James reinstated as director of Volume 3 as well as discouraged by those so easily duped into believing the many outlandish conspiracy theories surrounding him.”

  1. Read the following tweets from Gunn and defend him… let's us know where you stand…“Expendables is so manly I fucked the shit out of the pussy boy next to me,” the Disney director writes in one tweet.

“The best thing about being raped is when you’re done being raped and it’s like ‘whew this feels great, not being raped!’” he tweeted in 2009.

“I remember my first NAMBLA meeting. It was the first time I felt ok being who I am,” he tweeted, referring to NAMBLA, a group seeking to make sex with minors legal.

“I’m doing a big Hollywood film adaptation of The Giving Tree with a happy ending — the tree grows back and gives the kid a blowjob,” he tweeted in 2011.

TheWrap also included an apparent screen grab of 16 of Gunn’s tweets tweeted out by Jack Posobiec:

“I like it when little boys touch me in my silly place,” Gunn tweeted in 2009.

“The Hardy Boys and the Mystery of What It Feels Like When Uncle Bernie Fists Me,” reads another.

“‘Eagle Snatches Kid’ is what I call it when I get lucky,” reads a 2012 tweet.

TheWrap also reports that Gunn “apparently deactivated his personal website in the midst of the online firestorm[.]”

  2. Gunn is 51 yrs old. 2010, 2011, 2012, 2013 last perverse rape, abduction, pedophile tweets. 5 yrs ago.. How much can really change? Guess getting Rich changed him. 2013 Gunn was 46 yrs old.

  3. Dislike Squad, up in this bitch. Fuck that Pedophile piece of shit! He made probably 20+ "jokes" about pedophilia, and phrased it in a way like he supports it. I like the Guardians Of The Galaxy movies too, but this fucking Goof should be put behind bars for the rest of his life, along with the rest of the Pedo's in the Pedo Rings running across Hollywood & the Government.

  4. So Gunn got fired because alt right bastard banned behind each other to get him fire yet certain republicans are running for state and local offices that want to promote being pedo but I regress

  5. Just further reason to not fund these scumbags….how many times they showed their true colors now? Disney is mind control. This whole thimg is a psyop to nkrmalize this behavior. They won't get a dollar more from me.

  6. I don't agree with the way they phrased the "Problematic remarks" part. Really vague and they don't mention that they were meant to be jokes on controversial subjects for the sake of being edgy and getting a response. Shitty jokes, but still jokes. That's an important detail. Also whoever made the graphics for this vid used the wrong spelling for "pray" when quoting the cast.

  7. I’m confused about this one… on one hand Disney should be able to fire people who make their company look bad…but then again freedom of speech. Idk.

  8. While an interesting turn of events, as soon as those tweets surfaced talking about rape and pedophelia, I pretty much knew it would be a wrap at Disney. They still wont air Dont look under the bed, because parents said it was too scary for children. Those wernt even like, "people are being too sensitive" tweets those were more like "okay, you cant go over to Billys house no more," type of tweets.

  9. Noooooooooooo…..just…..noooooooooo!…..I understand you wanna stand by your friend….but you dont say nothing contradicting the stance of the company….shit!….we might not get a 3rd one at all now!😂🤣
