Hackers Alter YouTube Videos by Drake, Chris Brown, Taylor Swift, and More

If you were looking for some of your favorite pop hits on YouTube earlier, you might have been hard-pressed to find them.

The Verge reports hackers took over several popular videos for songs like Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee’s “Despacito.” Chris Brown, Shakira, DJ Snake, Selena Gomez, Drake, Katy Perry, and Taylor Swift also had several clips compromised by the hackers, who identified themselves as Prosox and Kuroi’sh.

Instead of finding the music video, an image of masked men holding guns from Netflix’s Casa de Papel was shown. The descriptions were also changed. Since the shake-up, which seemed to only happen with Vevo’s uploads, the videos have been restored to their original goodness.

The hackers have allegedly went to Twitter to share that it was “just a game” and that it was “just for fun.” The hackers claimed to have used a script “youtube-change-title-video” to do the deed.
